Manuela Mager married. Holzapfel (born July 11, 1962 in Dresden ) is a German figure skater who started in pair skating for the GDR .

Mager competed for the SC Einheit Dresden and trained with Uta Hohenhaus . Her figure skating partner was Uwe Bewersdorf .

In 1977 and 1978 Manuela Mager and Uwe Bewersdorf became GDR champions . In 1977 they also made their debut at major international tournaments. At the European Championships in Helsinki they were fourth and at the World Championships in Tokyo fifth. In 1978 they won their first medals. At the European Championships in Strasbourg they won the bronze medal behind the Soviet couples Irina Rodnina and Alexander Saizew as well as Marina Cherkassova and Sergei Shachrai and in Ottawa they were runner-up behind Rodnina / Saizew. In 1979 they did not contest any competitions. In 1980 it was enough for her as the reigning GDR runner-up behind Sabine Baeß and Tassilo Thierbach at the European championship only to fifth place. A little later, however, Mager and Bewersdorf won Olympic bronze in Lake Placid and, after Rodnina / Saizew resigned, they became vice world champions in Dortmund behind Cherkassova and Shachrai.

The couple Mager / Bewersdorf were the first couple in the world to show the triple Wurfrittberger in a competition . Manuela Mager ended her figure skating career in 1980. After the end of her figure skating career, she applied for an exit visa and left the GDR. Today she works as a secretary in Bavaria .
