Hayes Alan Jenkins (born March 23, 1933 in Akron , Ohio ) is a former American figure skater who started in a single run . He is Olympic figure skating champion from 1956 and world champion from 1953 to 1956 .

Hayes Alan Jenkins dominated the men's competition in figure skating for the four years from 1953 to 1956 and thus succeeded his compatriot Richard Button . During these years he remained unbeaten, was American champion four times in a row and won the world figure skating championship four times in a row , in 1953 and 1954 before his compatriot James Grogan and in 1955 and 1956 before compatriot Ronald Robertson . He won the gold medal at the 1956 Olympic Games . After the end of his career, his brother David replaced him as both world champion and Olympic champion.

Jenkins studied law at Harvard and became a lawyer for tire manufacturer Goodyear . He married the Olympic and figure skating world champion Carol Heiss .
