Kurt Browning , CM (born June 18, 1966 in Rocky Mountain House , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian figure skater who started in a single run . He is the world champion from 1989 to 1991 and 1993 .

He grew up with his older brother and sister in Caroline, Alberta .

He was world champion in figure skating four times ( 1989 , 1990 , 1991 , 1993 ), more often than any Canadian in history, but was never able to win a medal at the Olympic Games . In 1994, the three-time Olympic participant carried the Canadian flag at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer when the nations marched in.

On March 25, 1988, he jumped the first faultless four-fold jump - a four-fold toe loop - in a competition (world championship) and is thus listed in the Guinness Book of Records. He is also known for his excellent ice skating technique.

In 1994 Browning ended his amateur career and switched to the professional camp.

On June 30, 1996, Browning married Sonia Rodriguez, a principal dancer for the National Ballet of Canada. The couple have two sons, Gabriel, born on July 12, 2003 and Dillon, born on August 14, 2007.
