Osborne Colson

Harry Osborne Colson (born March 31, 1916 in Toronto , Ontario , † July 14, 2006 ibid) was a Canadian figure skater and figure skating coach.

Colson's father was one of the founders of the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club .

In the individual run Osborne Colson was Canadian runner-up in 1935 and Canadian champion in 1936 and 1937, in pairs he reached third place in 1936 on the side of Mary Jane Halsted . However, he did not take part in any world championships . His trainer was Gustave Lussi . After ending his amateur career, Colson ran for the ice revue Ice Follies.

As a coach, Colson worked with Barbara Ann Scott , Donald Jackson , Donald Laws and others , and still looked after Patrick Chan in old age , who became Canadian junior champion in 2005 under his direction.

Osborne Colson died on July 14, 2006 of pneumonia and other complications in a car accident he suffered earlier in the year.
