Ryan Bradley
Ryan Bradley (born November 17, 1983 in Saint Joseph , Missouri ) is a retired American figure skater who started in a single run .
Bradley comes from a figure skating family, both his parents and sister were figure skaters. Today his sister works as a figure skating coach and his mother as a judge for the US federation. Bradley started ice skating at the age of two. He starts for the Broadmoor Skating Club in Colorado Springs . His trainer is Tom Zakrajsek . In addition to his competitive career, Bradley studies economics at the University of Colorado Springs and works as a volunteer at the Broadmoor Skating Club and as a trainer at the Colorado Springs World Arena. Bradley is particularly known for his spectacular shows, in which he u. a. shows a backflip.
From 1996 to 1998 Bradley competed in pair skating alongside Tiffany Vise . He finished this so that he could concentrate fully on the individual run. As a single runner, he became US junior champion in 1999. In 2000 he achieved his best result at the Junior World Championships with fifth place . In 2004 he took part in the four continents championship for the first time and finished it in eleventh place. In 2007 he first reached the podium at the US Seniors Championships . He won the silver medal behind Evan Lysacek and qualified for his first world championship . There he reached 15th place. Shortly before, he had finished fourth in the four continents championship. In the following three years he narrowly missed the national podium, but was able to take part in his second world championship in 2010 because the Olympic champion Evan Lysacek and Johnny Weir did not start. Bradley did not get past 18th place.
In January 2011, Ryan Bradley was surprisingly US champion in Greensboro , North Carolina . In his third world championship, he achieved thirteenth place in Moscow, his best result at world championships. Two weeks later, Bradley announced his retirement from competitive sports.
