Overdrive is a German techno record label that has existed since the early 1990s. In the meantime, it has released over 300 releases along with its sublabels, mainly on records. Well-known artists of the techno scene such as Tom Wax , Sven Wittekind and DS (Daniel Steinberg) and many more have published their music on the label and are partly also known through this.
history
The record label was founded in 1991 by Andy Düx and Udo Niebergall in Mainz. The first release "Tribal Ghost" with the catalog number OVER-001 started in 1991 in sales at AMV. From catalog number OVER-004 Discomania took over the distribution of the label. Andy Düx later took over the label completely alone. At the beginning of 2010 Discomania stopped selling. Since then, the record releases from "Overdrive" have been distributed exclusively through Vinyllabor. In addition, "Overdrive" has also been available digitally since 2010. The digital distribution is "wordandsound".
Andy Düx and Sophie Nixdorf have shared the management of the label since the beginning of 2011 .
