Ronald Edmund "Ron" Ludington (born September 4, 1934 in Boston , Massachusetts , † May 14, 2020 in Newark , Delaware ) was a former American figure skater who started pair skating .
Together with his wife Nancy Ludington , he was US pair skating champion from 1957 to 1960 . You were trained by Cecilia Colledge . The couple took part in world championships during the same period . They finished fourth in 1957 , fifth in 1958 and sixth in 1960 . The Ludingtons won their only world championship medal in Colorado Springs in 1959 with bronze behind Canadians Barbara Wagner and Robert Paul and the Germans Marika Kilius and Hans-Jürgen Bäumler . After divorcing Nancy, Ludington married Mary Batdorf, better known today as Mary Scotvold . Both trained at the Skating Club of Wilmington and have a son. This marriage also ended in divorce in the mid-1970s. Ludington married Karen, who is also a figure skating coach.
