Vivian Joseph (born March 7, 1948 in Chicago , Illinois ) is a former American figure skater who started in pair skating .

Together with her older brother Ronald Joseph , she was US pair skating champion in 1965 . The couple competed in world championships from 1963 to 1965 . In 1963 they were eighth, in 1964 fourth and in 1965 in Colorado Springs they won the silver medal behind Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov from the Soviet Union . At the Olympic Games in Innsbruck in 1964 , they narrowly missed the bronze medal in fourth place, which went to Canadians Debbi Wilkes and Guy Revell . In 1966, the silver medalists of these Olympic Games, Marika Kilius and Hans-Jürgen Bäumler , were disqualified by the International Olympic Committee because they signed a professional contract before the Winter Games . Thereupon the Josephs received the bronze medal. In 1987, however, Kilius and Bäumler were fully rehabilitated by the IOC.
