Melissa Mary Militano-Warkmeister (born April 26, 1955 in Rockville Center , Long Island , New York ) is a former American figure skater .

As a single runner, Militano won the junior title at the US championships in 1971 . She was one of the first figure skaters to show the triple toe loop .

Furthermore, she competed in pair skating with her brother Mark . Together they won the title at US championships in 1973 as well as three silver medals (1970–1972) and a bronze medal (1969). They always placed in the top ten at world championships . It was enough for seventh place at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo .

Militano started with Johnny Johns after her brother's resignation . With him she won two more titles at the national championships and places six and eight at world championships.

Militano then toured with the Ice Capades and now works as a trainer in Las Vegas .
