John Luther Zimmerman IV (born November 26, 1973 in Birmingham , Alabama ) is a retired American figure skater who started pair skating .

He started ice skating at the age of three. His first figure skating partner was Brie Teaboldt in 1994 and 1995, and from 1995 to 1998 he competed with Stephanie Stiegler. In 1997 he won the bronze medal with her at the US championships and therefore contested his first world championship a little later , which he finished with Stiegler in 15th place. Both coaches were Peter Oppegard .

From 1998 Kyoko Ina Zimmerman's partner. They trained with Tamara Moskwina and her husband Igor Moskwin in Hackensack , New Jersey . From 2000 to 2002 Zimmerman and Ina became US champions in pair skating . In 2000 they won the silver medal at the Four Continents Championships and in 2001 the bronze medal. Her greatest success was winning the bronze medal at the 2002 World Cup in Nagano . The 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics finished the pair in fifth place. In 2003 Zimmerman and Ina switched to the professionals and ran the ice revue Stars on Ice.
