The 90th World Figure Skating Championships took place from March 23 to April 3, 2000 in the Palais des Congrès Acropolis in Nice ( France ).
The World Championships were actually awarded to Brisbane , Australia , but the ISU reversed this decision in the fall of 1999 due to the inability of the organizer to allow an adequate broadcast and named Nice as the new venue.
Because of the large number of participants, the starting field in the individual competitions was again divided into groups A and B.
