Julija Valerjewna Vorobjowa ( Russian Юлия Валерьевна Воробьёва ; born June 25, 1974 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian figure skater who worked for the Soviet Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States , the United Team and Azerbaijan in the individual race and later started as a coach.
Yulia Vorobyova was the last Soviet female figure skating champion and won this title in 1991 and 1992. In 1991, she took part in the European and World Championships for the Soviet Union. In 1992 she competed at the European and World Championships for the CIS and at the Winter Olympics in Albertville as a member of the United Team.
From 1994 she started for Azerbaijan and took part in the Winter Olympics again in 1998 under this flag.
In 2001 she ended her career in order to devote herself entirely to her coaching activity at the figure skating school in Odintsovo . She had trained there herself and worked as a trainer since 2000.
