Babar and the Adventures of Badou (Original title: Babar and the Adventures of Badou ) is a French - Canadian 3D - animated series . It was produced in France and Canada in 2010 and 2011 by the studios Nelvana Limited , TeamTO and YTV Productions . The first broadcast was in Australia and Canada in September 2010, while the German-language first broadcast took place on June 11, 2011 at KiKA . The series is based on the children's book series Babar the Elephant and is a continuation of the animated series Babar the Elephant King from 1989 to 1994.

Badou, Babar's eight-year-old grandson, lives with his parents at the royal court in the Kingdom of Celesteville. Here he constantly experiences new adventures with his friends, the monkey girl Chiku, porcupine Munroe, zebra Zawadi and the fox Fitz. Here they have to defend themselves against pranks and intrigues by Ambassador Krokodilus and his nephews Theo and Dieter. Badou's grandfather, King Babar, often accompanies him and helps him and his friends find a solution to their problems.
