Sergei Sachnowski ( Hebrew : סרגיי סחנובסקי, Russian Сергей Сахновский , born May 15, 1975 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a former Israeli figure skater who started in ice dancing .
Still starting for Russia, Sachnowski ran alongside Marina Anissina and Jekaterina Swirina . With Swirina he became Junior World Champion in ice dancing in 1993 .
From 1996 to 2006 Galit Chait was Sachnowski's ice dance partner. The ice dancing couple started for Israel. At the 2002 World Cup in Nagano , Sachnowski and Chait won their only medal at world and European championships with bronze . It was the first and so far only medal for Israel at world figure skating championships. Sachnowski and Chait took part in three Olympic Games . They finished 14th in 1998 in Nagano , sixth in Salt Lake City in 2002 and eighth in Turin in 2006 .
