The 94th World Figure Skating Championships took place from March 22nd to 28th, 2004 in the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund ( Germany ).

Because of the large number of participants, the starting field in the individual competitions was again divided into groups A and B. Both compulsory dances were also divided between two groups each.
