The 25th World Figure Skating Championships in 1927 took place for the men's competition on February 5 and 6, 1927 in Davos ( Switzerland ), for the women’s competition on February 19 and 20, 1927 in Oslo ( Norway ) and for the competition for couples on February 22 and 23 , 1927 February 1927 in Vienna ( Austria ).

Sonja Henie won her first of ten world titles in a row. After the compulsory figures, Herma Szabó had clearly led, but was defeated by the Norwegian in the end by the majority of the Norwegian judges. Three of the five judges came from Norway, one from Germany and one from Austria. The three Norwegians put Henie in first place, the other two judges Szabó; they did the same with Henie's compatriot Karen Simensen , who won bronze in front of Ellen Brockhöft . This defeat disaffected Herma Szabó so much that she promptly ended her career.
