The 11th World Figure Skating Championships in 1906 took place for the men's competition in Munich ( German Empire ) and for the women's competition in Davos ( Switzerland ).

The men's competition was on February 4, 1906. Ulrich Salchow did not take part because he feared that the judges in Gilbert Fuchs ' hometown Munich would not judge neutrally and fairly. Fuchs, who became the first world figure skating champion in 1896 , won his second and last world championship ten years later.

For the first time in history there was a women's competition, it took place on January 28th and 29th. Madge Syers , who had already won silver behind Ulrich Salchow in the men's competition in 1902 , became the first female world champion.
