Bruno Wenzel
Bruno Wenzel (* 1879 in Osnabrück ; † after 1924) was a German businessman and journalist. In 1921 he founded the first local branch of the NSDAP outside of Bavaria in Hanover .
Life
Before the First World War , Wenzel lived as a merchant in Spain . In 1919/20 he returned to Germany, where he settled in Hanover . In the following years he earned his living as a journalist and representative or as a lawyer. He had already sent a petition to the National Assembly from Spain , in which he demanded the right to vote for Germans abroad for a nationally understood economic parliament. In the spring of 1921, Wenzel became a member of the Hanoverian branch of the German-Völkischer Schutz- und Trutzbund . In May 1921 he joined the NSDAP.
On July 2, 1921, together with the former social democratic carpenter and ex-police officer Gustav Seifert in Hanover, he founded the first NSDAP local group in northern Germany , which marked the beginning of the party's expansion into northern Germany. He also acted as a promotional speaker for the NSDAP from 1921 to 1923. After the failure of the Hitler putsch on November 9, 1923, he returned to Spain in mid-January 1924 and handed over the management to Ludolf Haase .
Wenzel arranged for a translation of Henry Ford's book The International Jew into Spanish , which was published by Theodor Fritsch by Hammer-Verlag .
