Fabian Bourzat (born December 19, 1980 in Nantes , Pays de la Loire ) is a French figure skater who starts in ice dancing .

Bourzat started figure skating at the age of six and immediately devoted himself to ice dancing. Nathalie Péchalat has been his ice dance partner since 2000 . The ice dance couple was brought together by former ice dancer and trainer Muriel Zazoui and is now trained by Alexander Schulin and Oleg Volkov .

Péchalat and Bourzat debuted at World Championships in 2004 , European Championships in 2005 and Olympic Games in 2006 . In 2008 they made it into the top ten at World and European Championships for the first time . They also succeeded in doing this at their second Olympic Games in 2010 .

After two fourth places at European championships, Péchalat and Bourzat became European champions in Bern in 2011 and thus won their first medal at world and European championships. At the World Championships in Moscow , the French champions of 2009 and 2011 were in third place after the short dance, a fall by Bourzat in her previously flawless freestyle cost her the bronze medal in the end. As in the previous year, they finished fourth. Nevertheless, the 2010/11 season was the couple's most successful to date. They also won both of the Grand Prix competitions in which they competed, namely the Eric Bompard Trophy and the Cup of China , and achieved the silver medal in the Grand Prix final .

At the 2012 European Championships in Sheffield , Péchalat and Bourzat defended their title. At the 2012 World Cup in Nice , the French won their long-awaited world championship medal in front of their home crowd in the ninth attempt with bronze.
