Doreen Denny is a former British figure skater who started out in ice dancing .

Her ice dance partner was Courtney Jones . The couple won all of the competitions they entered. In 1959, as reigning British champions, they became European champions in Davos and world champions in Colorado Springs . They defended their titles in 1960 at the European Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the World Championships in Vancouver . In 1961 they became European champions again in Berlin . It was their last competition as the 1961 World Cup in Prague was canceled due to the US team's plane crash and Denny wanted to marry the Italian ice dancer Gianfranco Canepa after the season .

Denny later worked as a trainer at Broadmoor Skating Club in Colorado Springs . Her students included Colleen O'Connor and Jim Millns , who won the 1976 Olympic bronze medal in ice dancing.

In 1982, Denny had her winning tray of the 1959 World Cup stolen during a break-in. In 2010 she got it back.
