Lawrence Demmy (* 1930 or 1931 ; † December 9, 2016 ) was a British figure skater who started with Jean Westwood in ice dancing .

Together with her he was British champion from 1952 to 1955, European champion from 1954 to 1955 and world champion from 1952 to 1955 . Demmy and Westwood were both the first world champions as well as the first European champions in ice dancing. With four world championship titles they are only surpassed by Lyudmila Pachomowa and Alexander Gorshkov from the Soviet Union , who achieved a total of six titles.

In 1977 Demmy and Westwood were inducted into the Figure Skating Hall of Fame . Demmy died on December 9, 2016 at the age of 85.
