Mojca Kopač (born May 2, 1975 in Ljubljana ) is a former Slovenian figure skater who started in a single run .
Career
Kopač, who started for Drsalno-Kotalkarski Klub Stanko Bloudek, began her career in national championships in the 1990s. So she won the Slovenian championship title for the first time in the 1990/91 season. The following year, she was surprisingly part of the roster for the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville . There she reached 25th place. At the World Championships, she missed the freestyle. A year later she reached 18th place after another national title at the European Figure Skating Championships in 1993 . At the World Championships, however, as in the previous year, she missed the freestyle. In 1994 and 1995 she remained unbeaten at the national level, but had to be satisfied with 20th place at the European Championships. In 1995 she reached the 11th place at the Karl Schäfer Memorial . At the Golden Spin of Zagreb 1996 she reached the podium for the first time with second place. A short time later at the World Figure Skating Championships in Edmonton in 1996 , she was ranked 18th for the first time, placing her in the top 20.
By winning the Golden Spin of Zagreb in 1997, she qualified at the last second for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . There she finished 23rd after the competition. After she did not get past 24th place at the World Figure Skating Championships in 1998 , she was only able to attract attention again at the Ondrej Nepela Memorial , where she was on the podium with second place. After failing to win the national title from 1997 to 2000, she celebrated three more national titles from 2001 to the end of her career in 2004. After the 2004 World Figure Skating Championships , she ended her active career.
She has been training in Aston Township , Pennsylvania since retiring . In 2007 she married Louis Tiernan and has been called Kopač-Tiernan since then.
