Kristoffer Berntsson (born July 13, 1982 in Gothenburg , Västra Götalands län ) is a former Swedish figure skater who started in a single run .
Career
Berntsson began ice skating at the age of five, initially as a hockey player , but then focused on figure skating. In the year 2000 Berntsson went for the first time as the Swedish figure skating champion in the seniors. This year he was the first Swede to land a three-time Axel at the national championships and made his debut at European championships . A year later he made his debut at world championships . Berntsson was trained by Andrea Dohany .
Kristoffer Berntsson took part in all European championships from 2000 to 2011 . His best result was seventh place at the 2008 European Championship . From 2001 to 2009, Berntsson also took part in all world championships , with the best result he achieved in ninth place at the 2007 world championship .
Berntsson was Swedish champion nine times between 2000 and 2011. From 2005 there was a duel between him and Adrian Schultheiss , which Berntsson was always able to win at national level with one exception.
Berntsson's strength lay particularly in the artistic part of the sport, in its various choreographies.
In March 2011 he announced his retirement from competitive sports. He studies electrical engineering in Gothenburg.
