Patrick Meier

Patrick Meier (born March 15, 1976 in Winterthur ) is a former Swiss figure skater who started in a single run . Today he is a trainer at the Winterthur ice skating club.

Meier started figure skating at the age of six. He was trained by Christina Persico. His home club was the Winterthur ice skating club . Meier was the first Swiss who could show a triple Axel in the competition. He succeeded in doing this at the 1995 Karl Schäfer Cup .

Meier was Swiss champion seven times between 1992 and 2000 . In the period from 1992 to 2004 he took part in eight world championships and ten European championships . His best results at these tournaments were 16th at the 2001 World Cup and 10th at the 1999 European Championships . In 1998 Meier played his only Olympic Games and finished them in 22nd place.

Patrick Meier studied law at the University of Zurich .
