Patrick Maier (born April 17, 1990 in Klaus ) is an Austrian ice hockey striker who has been under contract with VEU Feldkirch again since 2012 and has been on the ice for the team from Vorarlberg since 2016 in the Alps Hockey League .

Career

Maier comes from the offspring of VEU Feldkirch . He played for the club's U20 team at the age of 13 and made his debut in the National League at the age of 15 . At the age of 17, the striker finally decided to move to EC Red Bull Salzburg , where he was immediately used in the first men's team in the Austrian ice hockey league . He then moved to Linz for a year and returned to Red Bull for the 2009/10 season. For the 2011/12 season he moved within the top Austrian league to EC Graz 99ers . Even there, however, it only lasted a year and so he returned to his home club in Feldkirch in 2012. Since 2016 he has been playing with the club in the newly founded Alps Hockey League .

International

Maier took part in the U18 World Championships in Division I in 2007 and 2008 as well as in the U20 World Championships in Division I in 2008 and 2009 with the Austrian youth teams. After promotion in 2009 he played with the Austrian U20 team at the 2010 World Cup in the top division.

On December 17, 2010 Maier made his debut in a 3-2 win in the friendly against Hungary in Jesenice, Slovenia in the men's selection of the Alpine country .
