Tatyana Valeryevna Malinina ( Cyrillic : Татьяна Валерьевна Малинина , Uzbek Tatyana Valeyevna Malinina ; born January 28, 1973 in Novosibirsk , Soviet Union ) is a former Uzbek figure skater .

Career

Her father is a figure skating coach and ice dancer. She trained with him for 18 years. Her mother was a gymnast. She also has a brother. Her other coaches were Igor Xenofontow and Roman Skornjakow . She moved to Tashkent as a teenager and lived there, but since 1998 she has trained in Dale City , Virginia , USA and in the summer in Prague . She started for the Alpomisch Sport Club. The 1998/1999 season was by far their most successful. She won the Grand Prix final as well as the first four continents championship , which also made her the first medalist at an ISU championship for Uzbekistan . At the 1999 World Cup, she narrowly missed a medal with fourth place. In January 2000 she married her long-time training partner Roman Skornjakow .
