Angela Nikodinov (born May 9, 1980 in Spartanburg , South Carolina ) is an American figure skater . She is the daughter of Bulgarian immigrants and speaks fluent Bulgarian .

She grew up in San Pedro , a borough of Los Angeles , and trained in Lake Arrowhead . Her trainer was the former single runner Igor Paschkewitsch , other former trainers are Peter Oppegard , Frank Carroll , Elena Tcherkasskaja and Richard Callaghan .

During the USA Championships in Portland, Oregon in 2005 , she and her family were involved in a car accident in which their mother was killed. Nikodinov has not competed since then, also due to the injuries she sustained in the accident.

Her greatest successes are winning the ISU - Four Continents Championships 2000 and fifth place at the 2001 World Championships .

Nikodinov trained the Bulgarian figure skater Iwan Dinew and American junior skaters in Torrance (California).

On October 8, 2006, Angela Nikodinov started her comeback as a professional runner. She will appear on the Michael Bolton Tribute On Ice show , as well as guest on Stars On Ice in 20 cities.
