Vanessa Gusmeroli (born September 19, 1978 in Annecy ) is a former French figure skater who started in a single run .
Gusmeroli, who also worked as a water skier , was French champion in figure skating for women from 2000 to 2002 . She took part in European championships from 1996 to 2002 . Her best result there was fourth place at the 2000 European Championships in Vienna . From 1996 to 2001 Gusmeroli also took part in world championships . At the 1997 World Championships in Lausanne , she celebrated her greatest success by winning the bronze medal behind the Americans Tara Lipinski and Michelle Kwan . Gusmeroli played two Winter Olympics . In 1998 in Nagano , she was sixth and in 2002 in Salt Lake City she was sixteenth.
After the Olympic Games, Gusmeroli ended her competitive career in 2002. She works as an official at the International Skating Union .
