Jacqueline du Bief (born December 4, 1930 in Paris ) is a former French figure skater who started in single and pair skating . She is the world champion of 1952 .

Du Bief was French female figure skating champion from 1947 to 1952 . She took part in the European Championships from 1949 to 1952 and landed on the podium three times. In 1950 in Oslo she won bronze behind the Czechoslovak Alena Vrzáňová and the British Jeannette Altwegg and in 1951 in Zurich and 1952 in Vienna she was vice-European champion behind Altwegg. From 1948 to 1952 du Bief took part in world championships . In 1951 she was runner-up behind Altwegg in Milan and, in 1952, in the absence of the British woman, finally world champion. At the Olympic Games in Oslo in 1952 , her second Olympic Games after 1948 , where she had finished 16th, du Bief won the bronze medal behind Altwegg and the American Tenley Albright . Du Bief was considered a strong free skier, whereas Altwegg had her strengths more in the compulsory figures.

At national level, du Bief won the pair skating championships in 1950 and 1951 together with Tony Font .

Du Bief was trained by Jacqueline Vaudecrane . Following her amateur career , she turned professional , went to the USA and worked there on various ice revues such as Hollywood Ice Review, Ice Capades and Holiday on Ice .
