The University of Karachi ( Urdu جامعہ كراچى) is a state university in Karachi , in the Pakistani province of Sindh . The college is one of the largest and best universities in Pakistan based on the number of patents and articles pending in international scientific newspapers and the frequency of academic conferences. Currently, about 20,000 students are enrolled at Karachi University and 1,000 people are employed.

Karachi University was founded in June 1951 , making it the fourth oldest university in Pakistan and the oldest in Karachi .
