The Pakistani rupee is the currency of Pakistan . A rupee (English Rupee ) is in 100 Paise divided. The ISO code is PKR, in the country itself the abbreviations Re. (Singular) and backs (plural) used. The State Bank of Pakistan is in charge of Pakistan's monetary policy . By 1961, the rupee was divided into 16 annas .

In Pakistan, banknotes of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000 and 5000 rupees and coins of 1, 2 and 5 rupees are in circulation. Paisa coins have not been minted since 1996 due to their low value and are practically no longer in circulation.
