The Lebanese pound is the currency of Lebanon .

Banknotes come in 14 denominations: 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000 pounds

Coins were issued in denominations of 5, 10, 25 and 50 piastres and 1, 50, 100, 250 and 500 pounds

Only banknotes valued at 1000 pounds and more and coins 50 pound and more are still in use today. The Lebanese pound has been pegged to the US dollar since the war-related inflation that began in December 1997 .
