Planá (German plan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located on the southwestern border of České Budějovice on the left bank of the Vltava .

history

Planá was first mentioned in 1259 when Wok von Rosenberg gave the Hohenfurth monastery a third of the village's tithes . The place belonged to the rule of Cernoduben , which remained in the possession of the Rosenbergs until 1611 . After Peter Wok von Rosenberg's death, his valet Johann Hogen von Schwarzbach inherited Cernoduben and Plan.

The Thirty Years' War and the mismanagement of the Hogens led to the decline of the village, which ultimately consisted of only twelve farms, five of which lay fallow. In 1679 František Kořenský z Terešova inherited the rule, which he sold to the city of Budweis in 1687 .

With the replacement of the manors, Plan became an independent municipality in 1849 and, from 1868, a district of Hummeln . Since 1990 Planá has formed a municipality again.

Community structure

No districts are shown for the municipality of Planá. Basic settlement units are Planá and Planá-u letiště.

Planá airfield

In 1935 an airfield was built near Planá, which served as the main base of the Jihočeský Aeroklub. After the Second World War, the Czechoslovak air defense took over the airfield. In December 2005 the airfield was evacuated by the military and became the sponsorship of an airport operating company formed by the city of České Budějovice and the Jihočeský kraj region . It was planned to expand it as the international airport České Budějovice . After funding was not promised, this project was rejected.
