history

Evidence of an early settlement is shown by the burial mounds from the Bronze Age in Panský les. It is assumed that the Vidov fortress was built between the 13th and 14th centuries. The first written record about Vidov or Vidov pole took place in 1357, when Jindřich von Vidovpole appeared as a witness at the appointment of the pastor of Nákří . Jindřich was the fourth member of a small noble family that named itself Vidov pole after his seat . He was followed by Beneš von Vidovpole, who lived in Budweis a . . appeared as a witness at the foundation of an altar . The subsequent owner of the estate was Jan von Vidov or Vidovec. This served in the power struggle that was lost in 1394 between King Wenceslas IV and the nobility union around Heinrich III. von Rosenberg to his king and atone for it with his freedom and his possessions. After the settlement of June 24, 1405, Jan was released by Vidov and his estate was returned. The Vidovpole family died out after 1415. The subsequent owners of the estate were Jindřich Kolman from Křikava , Jan Tožice from Tožice, Cinišpán from Heršlák, Lev from Rosental and Zdeniek Lev from Rosental . He sold the Vidov estate in 1490 together with Hodějovice to Wok II von Rosenberg , who added it to his dominion in Wittingau . The fortress was described as desolate in the arable land of Rosenberg in 1541. It was located not far from today's transformer station on a spur above the Tvrzský rybník pond, which is no longer in existence. The Vidov estate also held the brewing rights. When the administrator of the Rosenberg estates, Jakob Krčín von Jelčany , had a new brewery built in Plav in 1564 , the Vidov brewery rights were transferred to it. In the vicinity of the village there were three large fish ponds on the Maltsch in the 16th century.

After the death of Peter Wok von Rosenberg , the inheritance of the Rosenbergs fell to the Lords of Schwanberg in 1611 . After the Battle of the White Mountain , Peter von Schwanberg's property was confiscated and fell to the emperor. From 1660, the Třeboň estate belonged to the Lords of Schwarzenberg . Iron mines were operated at the Goldener Hirsch. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to Třeboň.

After the abolition of patrimonial Vidov / Repoland formed from 1850 initially a district of the municipality Hodovice in the district administration Budějovice / Budweis. 1869 took Emperor Franz Joseph Railway on the railway Budweis - Gmund the operation and drove on without stopping Vidov over. From 1895 Vidov was part of the municipality of Plav. In 1913 the village had 89 Czech-speaking residents. In 1924 Vidov broke away from Plav and formed his own community. The population grew to 100 in the 1930s. During the German occupation , Repoland was incorporated into Daubrawitz in 1943 . This was revised again after the end of the Second World War in 1945. In 1956 the village was placed under the administration of the Local National Committee Roudné and in 1964 it was completely incorporated. The townscape was changed significantly in the 1970s and 1980s by the construction of new buildings, and a separate waterworks was built at the same time. After a referendum, Vidov broke away from Roudné on November 24, 1990 and formed its own municipality.
