history

The first written mention of the village of Mocrig , which belonged to the Velešín castle lordship , was in 1362 when it was pledged to Bohuslav von Mirkovice. In 1387 the Lords of Rosenberg acquired Velešín. Heinrich V von Rosenberg pledged the village to Jan von Bohušice in 1474. On November 27, 1737, Johann Friedrich Anton Vorteil, Count of Wartenberg auf Klein Umlowitz, bought Mokrylom from the Krumlov domain . The next owner was Josef Gundakar Graf Thürheim, who sold his goods to Franz Leopold von Buquoy on September 1, 1751 . The village thus became part of the Gratzen rule . In 1756 the villages of Chlum, Mokrý Lom, Ločenice, Sedlce and Polžov were assigned by the parish Velešín to the newly built branch church Johannesberg , which looked after 4020 parishioners. In 1840, 91 Czechs lived in the 14 houses of Mokrý Lom / Mokrylom . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained subservient to Gratzen.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Mokrý Lom / Mokrylom 1850 a district of the municipality Sedlce in the district administration Budějovice / Budweis. In 1889 a voluntary fire brigade was formed for all districts. The first plans to divide the community consisting of the villages Branišovice, Kladiny, Lahuť, Mokrý Lom, Polžov, Sedlce, Hrachové Hory, Úlehle, Zahrádka and the Benák and Babka strata were presented in early 1919. However, these were not pursued further after the Social Democrats who rejected such a division emerged victorious in the subsequent local elections and the new mayor also came from Sedlce. The local mayor of Mokrý Lom, František Pártl, tried several times in vain to enforce the partition against the resistance of the representatives from Sedlce and Branišovice. After the biggest problem with the division of the property of the fire brigade could be solved, the municipal council of Sedlce agreed on August 19, 1923 the separation of Mokrý Lom with Lahuť and Polžov. This was finally carried out on February 28, 1924. During the German occupation , Mokrý Lom / Mokrilom was incorporated into Branišovice / Branschowitz in 1943 . This was revised again after the end of the Second World War. In 1948 the community was added to the newly formed Okres Trhové Sviny, which was repealed twelve years later. At the beginning of 1961, the community was assigned to the Okres České Budějovice. On June 14, 1964 it was incorporated into Římov . Since November 24, 1990, Mokrý Lom has again formed its own municipality.
