history
Archaeological finds, which range from the Mesolithic , Middle Bronze Age , Hallstatt and Latène Ages to the early Middle Ages , prove that the municipality was settled at an early age. Furthermore, ceramic finds in the Hláska corridor suggest that a later extinct village was located there between the 13th and 15th centuries.
The first written mention of the village belonging to the Poděhusy Castle was in 1379 in the Rosenberg land register. In 1421 the Hussites under Jan Žižka burned the castle down. In 1481, Wok II von Rosenberg sold the desert castle and all its accessories to Peter Kořenský von Terešov. Later the village was attached to the Libiegowitz rule . In 1835 Hlawatetz consisted of 42 houses with 279 Czech-speaking residents. There was an inn in the village. The parish and school location was Nettolitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Hlawatetz remained subject to the allodial rule Libiegowitz belonging to the Prince Schwarzenberg .
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Hlavatec / Hlawatetz 1850 a municipality in the district administration Prachatice / Prachatice. The Czech place name Hlavatce has been used since the end of the 19th century . The volunteer fire brigade was founded on January 6, 1909. In 1910 Hlavatce / Hlawatetz had 244 Czech-speaking inhabitants and was parish and schooled in Sedlec / Selz . After the Munich Agreement and the resulting separation of the Prachatitz district, Hlavatce remained with the "remaining Czech Republic" in 1938 and was added to the Písek district. In 1943 it was incorporated into Selz . This was lifted after the end of the Second World War in 1945 and the community was initially reassigned to Okres Prachatice. In 1948 Hlavatce became part of the newly formed Okres Vodňany , which was repealed in 1960. In this context, at the beginning of 1961, Hlavatce was again incorporated into Sedlec and at the same time added to the Okres České Budějovice . After a referendum, Hlavatce broke away from Sedlec on November 24, 1990 and has since formed its own community.
