Zliv (German Sliw ) is a city in the South Bohemian Region in the Czech Republic .
geography
It is located ten kilometers northwest of Budweis and four kilometers west of Hluboká nad Vltavou , between the Bezdrev pond (the third largest pond in the Czech Republic) fed by the Soudský potok , the Zlivský pond and the Mydlovarský pond. The 3706 inhabitants live in 665 houses on an area of 1421 hectares . The important railway line 190 of the Czech Railways from Budweis to Pilsen runs through the city .
