history

Nová Ves was probably founded around 1570. The village was first mentioned in writing in a letter from Wilhelm von Rosenberg addressed to the Council of Budweis on January 6, 1573, in which he asked for concession in a matter concerning the wife of his subject Pavel Holinek from Nová Ves. On June 30, 1574, a Říha from Nová Ves appeared before the Budweiser Council as a witness in the trial of a fight in Nedabyle. In 1580 Nová ves u Borovnice was named in a document of the Třeboň rule as a newly founded village consisting of ten peasant farms, the settlers of which had to pay a shock groschen to the rule every year. In a certificate by Peter Wok von Rosenberg from 1600, Nowe WWsy̆ pod zBorowem was listed as an accessory for Trzebonie Castle . After his death in 1611, the Rosenbergs inherited the von Schwanberg family . After the Battle of the White Mountain , Peter von Schwanberg's property was confiscated and fell to the emperor. The Thirty Years War led to the desolation of the village. In 1625, only two of the ten properties were still in use. At the end of the war, the repopulation began; a Kretscham was also set up in Nová Ves in 1647 , but its licensing rights had to be transferred to Hůrka due to a dispute with Anna Chrtová from Rtín. Linen weaving was introduced in the 17th century, and the farmers also earned extra income with the manufacture of wooden goods. From 1660, the Třeboň estate belonged to the Lords of Schwarzenberg . The house numbering took place in the years 1770 to 1771. In 1836 the construction of the imperial road from Budweis to Gratzen began , in the course of this road construction in 1845 the single-arched stone bridge over the Zborovský potok was built. The individual estate Zajíčkův dvůr was established in 1838. In 1840 Nová Ves consisted of 16 houses with 91 inhabitants. Iron mining was carried out on the Chlumek, the ores were processed in the Adolfshütte ( Adolfov ) in Holubov and the Gabrielenhütte in German Beneschau . The parish was Střížov . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to Třeboň.

After the abolition of patrimonial Nová Ves / Neudorf formed from 1850 with the districts Borovnice, Hůrka and Lomec a municipality in the district administration Budějovice / Budweis. In 1877, the road bridge over the creek Hůrecký Potok was built in 1869 that took Emperor Franz Joseph Railway on the railway Budweis - Gmund starts running. A breakpoint was created at house number 24. After the end of the Prague anniversary exhibition of 1891, the Schwarzenberg brewery in Wittingau moved its pavilion to the wood to the west of Nová Ves and set up an inn there. In 1896, the new Neudorf station was built at the bar . The naming of the station and the lettering Neudorf on three sides of the station building led to violent protests in the Czech press because the station was in the Czech-speaking area. The village smithy was established in 1875. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1898, and the poor house was opened in the same year. At the beginning of the 20th century, clay and kaolin mining began between Zborov and Nová Ves. In 1914 there were 504 Czechs living in the village; the district Nová Ves had 210 inhabitants. During this time, the Hospoda U Kristlů restaurant gained regional fame with dance events. After the interest in their own school in Nová Ves had existed since 1909, the children from Nová Ves, Hůrka and Nedabyle were schooled by Doubravice in 1914 and a communal primary school was opened in Nedabyle. After the station was built, a settlement was built around it in the 20th century. In 1931 Lomec and Borovnice broke up and formed their own communities. During the German occupation in 1943 Hůrka / Hurka was forcibly incorporated; this was lifted again on August 9, 1945 after the end of World War II. The dance restaurant Hospoda U Kristlů was operated privately until 1951 and then closed. The village smithy was demolished in 1964. On June 13, 1964, Nová Ves, like Hůrka, was incorporated into Nedabyle. In the second half of the 20th century, the station settlement was greatly expanded and has developed into the new center of the town since the 1980s. The original village is now the rural settlement Nová Ves - stará část , east of the new town center , the population of which is steadily falling. After a referendum, Nová Ves and Hůrka broke away from Nedabyle on November 24, 1990 and formed their own community.
