history

The first written mention of the village Horka Minor , which belonged to the lordship of Bzí, took place in 1354. The prefix was used to distinguish it from Horka Major ( Bílá Hůrka ). The oldest news about the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin comes from 1377. It was probably painted blue earlier, which led to the place name Modrá Hůrka . After the parish of St. Stephen in Horní Bukovsko died out during the Hussite Wars , its villages were added to the Modrá Hůrka Plebany. The first school was established in 1661. In 1672 Johann Adolf I. von Schwarzenberg bought the Bzí rule and joined it to the Wittingau rule . In 1699 the Modrá Hůrka parish was reorganized. In 1722, the owner of Zálší , Wenzel Ignaz Imperial Count Wratislaw von Mitrowitz, arranged for the branch church Horní Bukovsko to be separated from Modrá Hůrka and the establishment of a parish in Zálší. In 1728 a new school building was built for two-class teaching. The school had a wide catchment area in the rural area between Bukovsko and Žimutice. The teacher was initially paid exclusively in kind. After a fire, the school building was rebuilt in 1804 with three classrooms. In 1840 Modrá Hurka / Blau-Hurka consisted of 17 houses with 153 inhabitants. The parish church, the parish and a school existed in the village under the patronage of the Wittingau rule. The place was a parish village for Bzy ( Bzí ), Groß Pořižan ( Pořežany ), Klein Pořižan ( Pořežánky ), Tuchonitz ( Tuchonice ), Stiepoklas ( Štipoklasy ), Sobietitz ( Sobětice ), Eichmühl ( Dubové Mlýny ) and Radonice . During this time the construction of ornate stone courtyards in peasant baroque style began. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to Gut Bzy, which was part of the Wittingau dominion.

After the abolition of patrimonial Modrá Hůrka formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Bzí in the district administration and the judicial district Týn nad Vltavou / Moldauthein. In 1897 a volunteer fire brigade for Bzí and Modrá Hůrka was founded on the initiative of the teacher František Peták. In 1910 there were 147 Czech-speaking residents in Modrá Hůrka. On June 12, 1960 the village was incorporated into Štipoklasy. After the Okres Týn nad Vltavou was abolished, the place was assigned to the Okres České Budějovice in 1961. From January 1, 1976 Modrá Hůrka formed a district of Žimutice. The school closed in the 1980s and the school building has been falling into disrepair ever since. After a referendum, Modrá Hůrka and Pořežánky broke away from Žimutice on November 24, 1990 and formed their own municipality for the first time.
