Heinrich V von Rosenberg (Czech Jindřich V. z Rožmberka ; * June 25, 1456 - May 21, 1489 ) was regent of the House of Rosenberg from 1472 to 1475 .

Life

Heinrich was the eldest son of Johann II von Rosenberg and Anna von Glogau († 1483). After his father's death in 1742, he succeeded him as regent of the House of Rosenberg. Until January 1475 he administered the inherited possessions alone and then until August 24th. J. together with the younger brother Wok . Presumably because Heinrich had psychological and mental problems, he transferred the reign to Wok for three years and took his seat at Rosenberg Castle . The fact that he had health problems emerges from a letter from his brother-in-law Peter Holický von Sternberg dated August 11, 1476, with which he informed the Český Krumlov burgrave of the necessary medical treatment.

During the short period of Heinrich's reign, Bohuslav von Schwanberg acquired the dominions of Zvíkov and Mühlhausen from the Rosenbergs . The purchase was probably only due to the young ruler's insanity. However, in 1437 both lordships only came to the Rosenbergs through forgeries during the reign of Heinrich's grandfather Ulrich II von Rosenberg .

Děpolt von Lobkowitz, who was captured when Zdeněk von Sternberg captured Rosenberg Castle in 1469 and was imprisoned in Krumlov Castle , was released during Henry's reign in 1475. The release took place at the request of Georg von Podiebrad's widow after the financial affairs between the Lobkowitzers and Rosenbergers had been settled with the mediation of Bohuslav von Schwanberg.

Heinrich's successor was his brother Wok II von Rosenberg .
