Nir Bergman ( Hebrew ניר ברגמן; * August 8, 1969 in Haifa ) is an Israeli film director and screenwriter .

Bergman was born in Haifa in 1969 and moved with his parents to En Hod , a small artist village in northern Israel , in 1983 . After graduating from WIZO High School and completing military service, he studied at Tel Aviv University before finishing film studies at the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School, Jerusalem in 1998 .

He was already writing screenplays during his studies and also directed short films. His diploma film Sea Horses Susei Yam has already won numerous prizes, such as at the International Festival of Film Schools in Munich. His feature film debut Broken Wings has also received several awards, e. B. with the Ophir Prize for best film of the year 2002 of the Israeli Film and Television Academy, and was also shown in the Panorama section at the Berlinale 2003 . After several television productions, his second film HaDikduk HaPnimi was shown in the Generation Kplus section at the 2011 Berlinale .
