Stéphane Bernadis (born February 23, 1974 in Boulogne-Billancourt ) is a former French figure skater who started in pair skating .
His figure skating partner was Sarah Abitbol . At her side he was French pair skating champion from 1994 to 2003 . In 1993 they made their debut at world and European championships . They won their first major international medal with bronze at the European Championships in 1996 . At the European Championships in 1998 , 1999 , 2000 and 2001 they always won the bronze medal. In 2002 and 2003, Bernadis and Abitbol were vice-European champions behind the Russians Tatjana Totmjanina and Maxim Marinin . The French won their only medal at world championships in 2000 in Nice at their home World Cup. They finished third behind the Russians Marija Petrowa and Alexei Tichonow and the Chinese Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao . It was France's first pair skating World Cup medal since Andrée and Pierre Brunet won the title in 1932 . Bernadis and Abitbol finished their only Olympic Games in Nagano in 1998 in sixth place. They had to cancel the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City due to a tear in Abitbol's Achilles tendon. In 2003 they ended their careers.
