Thomas Rauer

Thomas Rauer (born August 16, 1977 in Essen , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German figure skater .

Thomas Rauer started figure skating when he was ten. Together with his sister Stephanie Rauer, he was two-time German ice dancing champion. The couple started for ERV 68 Essen. Her trainers were Christina Henke-Mades, Udo Dönsdorf and finally Oleg Ryjkin . The couple ended their amateur careers in 2003 .

Thomas Rauer studied human medicine, did his doctorate and is now a senior physician in trauma surgery at the University Hospital in Zurich.
