Marlies Schroer

Marlies Schroer , married. Mildebrath (born December 17, 1926 in Krefeld , also Marlies Schrör ) is a former German figure skater .

Life

She started ice skating at the age of 10. In 1948 she won the silver medal at the German Championships in her hometown of Krefeld. At the same championships, she was also second in pair skating with her partner Hans Schwarz. In the following years they came second twice and third once. In 1951, a German team was allowed to take part in the World Cup for the first time after the Second World War . They finished sixth in Milan .

In 1952 she switched to ice dancing . After almost a year of training, she and her new partner Kurt Müller became German champion in ice dancing in Garmisch . So she stood on the podium in three different disciplines at German championships.

After the end of her career, she was still active as a trainer and co-founder of the Eissport-Verein Krefeld 1978 e. V. (EVK).

She is the mother of two sons.
