Roman Skornyakov (Cyrillic Роман Скорняков Roman Skornjakow ; born February 17, 1976 in Sverdlovsk , Russian Soviet Republic ) is a former Uzbek figure skater who started in a single run .

Born in Russia, Roman Skornyakov decided to start for Uzbekistan after the collapse of the Soviet Union , as did his training mate Tatjana Malinina , who became his wife in 2000. Since 1998 they lived in the USA . After the death of their coach Igor Ksenofontov , Skornyakov and Malinina trained each other. Skornyakov also briefly trained the Kazakh pair skater Marina Chalturina , after she switched to the individual run at the end of her career.
