Panagiotis Markouizos ( Greek Παναγιώτης Μαρκουίζος , born August 13, 1980 in Athens ) is a Greek figure skater . He was a multiple Greek master. His best result in ISU title competitions was 33rd place at the European Figure Skating Championships in 2001.
Markouizos began figure skating in 1988, following his sister, who had been practicing this sport for several years. Shortly thereafter, between 1995 and 1999, he achieved several placements in the midfield in international junior competitions. Between 1998 and 2003 he achieved a total of six Greek championship titles and thus took part several times in European figure skating championships and world figure skating championships , in which, however, he was never able to qualify even for the short program. He has not participated in any competitions since 2004.
Panagiotis Markouizos is so far the only Greek figure skater who has performed a triple toe- loop jump and a triple salchow jump. Among all Greek runners, he is also the one with the highest number of participations in international competitions.
Since completing his coaching training in Canada , Markouizos has worked as a figure skating coach and teacher in Athens . He also trained several participants in the 2008 World Figure Skating Championships in Gothenburg and the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships in Los Angeles .
