Dagmar Lurz , married. Prott (born January 18, 1959 in Dortmund , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a former German figure skater who started in a single run .

Lurz trained with Erich Zeller in Oberstdorf , but competed for her home club ERC Westphalia Dortmund . In 1975 she played her first world and European championships . In 1977 she won her first of four consecutive German championship titles and had her international breakthrough by becoming Vice European Champion behind Anett Pötzsch from the GDR in Helsinki and winning the bronze medal at the World Championships in Tokyo in 1977 behind the Americans Linda Fratianne and Pötzsch. At the European Championships in Strasbourg in 1978 and in Zagreb in 1979 , Lurz was again runner-up behind Pötzsch and took fourth place at both the 1978 World Cup in Ottawa and the 1979 World Cup in Vienna . 1980 was her most successful year. After becoming German champion for the fourth time in a row and vice-European champion behind Anett Pötzsch for the fourth time in a row in Gothenburg , she also managed to become vice-world champion behind Pötzsch and before Fratianne in her home town of Dortmund . At the Olympic Games in Lake Placid , she won the bronze medal behind her two main competitors.

Lurz was an excellent compulsory runner, in her day the second best behind Anett Pötzsch. But she was also able to show two different triple jumps, Salchow and Rittberger , which made her competitive. Nevertheless, she was unable to run at the very front in the short program and freestyle.

Dagmar Lurz-Prott studied medicine at the University of Cologne and has remained loyal to figure skating as a judge.
