Theodora Amalia Elsa Frenssen (born June 1, 1895 in Hamburg , † May 6, 1980 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German figure skater who started in single and pair skating .

Thea Frenssen was German champion in the women's individual race in 1913, 1914, 1917 and 1918 (there were no championships in 1915 and 1916). She took part in world championships twice. She came seventh in Stockholm in 1913 and fourth in St. Moritz in 1914 . During the First World War there were no title fights, so that she was denied further good placements at world championships.

In pair skating, Frenssen took on Julius Vogel's side . Together they became German runners- up in 1913 and 1914 . Their only joint appearance at world championships, they finished in fourth place in 1914 .

After the Second World War , Thea Frenssen was a figure skating coach. Her students included Gundi Busch , Ina Bauer and Erich Zeller .
