Nicole Schott (born September 12, 1996 in Essen ) is a German figure skater who starts in a single run .

biography

Nicole Schott started ice skating in Essen when she was three years old. She started for the Essen youth figure skating club under coach Gudrun Pladdies. Surprisingly, she won the title at the German Championship 2012 in Oberstdorf with 131.65 points. In June 2014, she switched from her long-time trainer Gudrun Pladdies to Oberstdorf to successful trainer Michael Huth . At the German Championship 2015 in Stuttgart , she won the national title for the second time.

She made her international debut at the 2015 European Championships in Stockholm, where she immediately made it into the top ten (9th place) with a personal best of 153.63 points. As expected, the DEU nominated her for the 2015 World Championships in Shanghai, which she finished in 23rd place.

In the 2015/2016 season, Schott only achieved third place at the German championships in their hometown of Essen and thus missed the qualification for the European championship in Bratislava. The following season 2016/2017 was very successful for her. By winning the Challenger Series in Warsaw and the International NRW Trophy competition in Dortmund, she was able to secure the European championship starting place, although she did not take part in the German championships due to a knee injury.

At the European Championships in Ostrava 2017 , she secured her tenth place, the only starting place for the World Championships in Helsinki 2017 . At the World Championships in Helsinki, Schott achieved a direct Olympic starting place for Germany with 19th place.

In October 2017 she started her first Grand Prix in Moscow. Shortly afterwards she got her second Grand Prix start and finished the competition with a new personal best of 172.39. Nicole Schott finished tenth at the 2018 European Championships in Moscow.

At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, she was 14th after the short program (59.20 points). After the freestyle (109.26 points) she fell back to 18th place overall (168.46 points).
