Hellmut Seibt (born June 25, 1929 in Vienna ; † July 21, 1992 ) was an Austrian figure skater who started in a single run . He is the European champion in 1951 and 1952 .

Seibt became Austrian figure skating champions in 1950, 1951 and 1952 . After winning the bronze medal at the European Championships in 1949 and the silver medal in 1950 , he became European champions in 1951 and 1952 . In 1951 he also won the bronze medal at the World Championships behind the Americans Richard Button and James Grogan . At the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 , he was able to defeat Grogan and won the silver medal behind Button.

Before his success in singles, he took part in pair skating competitions with Susi Giebsch at the end of the 1940s , albeit without achieving top positions.

A major national figure skating event , the Helmut Seibt Memorial, takes place every year in honor of Hellmut Seibt .
